Bee Alert Technology is a full service bee management and bee health company. Having been in and around the bee industry for over 30 years, we understand the needs of bee keepers of all levels, and want to serve these needs.

Bee Alert has developed several technologies that can significantly improve bee management. These can be found under “Products” above, and include highly remote hive monitoring systems. We are currently working on a system that will allow managers of bees to quickly assess the health of a bee colony without opening the bee hive! Please contact us on 406-541-3160 for details on this system.

As part of our 30 plus year commitment to the bee keeping industry, we have been significantly involved in the issue of CCD.

On October 6th, 2010 we published the findings of our 3 year study into CCD showing the strong relationship between CCD and a one-two punch of a virus / fungus.

We have received a tremendous amount of press coverage of this scientific paper conducted in partnership primarily with the U.S. Army, and also with labs and universities around the U.S.

The paper itself can be found at PLoS ONE

The news on the findings was broken by the New York Times, in a front page article. (this requires a free-to-get NYTimes.com registration)

CBS covered this on their national evening news program. (there is a 30 second advert before the news article)

Our recommendations are that beekeepers treat for the fungus, which is Nosema. In addition, since the fungus and virus both occur in the gut of the bee, and both the virus and fungus prefer damp conditions, we recommend where possible to avoid damp areas for your bees.
